I’m Meredith Rensberry
I’m a Christian fiction writer who loves to write about people figuring out faith, life, and relationships. You can count on my stories to take an honest look at real life challenges we all experience. The journey will include finding hope in trials, building community, and making sure there is a laugh to offset any tears. As often as I can, I will be setting my stories in the West so I can relive the nostalgia of my Idaho roots. Stick around if you are feeling at least a little bit country.

Exploring My Mining Ghost Town
When I started outlining my book series, I thought it would be fun to revisit an idea I had in middle school. One of my mom’s dreams was to own a bed and breakfast someday. The topic was discussed openly around me and I guess some of it rubbed off . After I went to Silver City with my mom,who was attending a college class held there, I melded the two things together in my mind. I dreamed of having a hotel where the owner (me of course) would keep her guests in a state of wonder over the stories of the Old West. Black and white pictures would line the walls. I would have a ready story for each one, thrilling my guests with tales of adventure, mystery, and a little scandal. Based somewhat on Silver City, and the numerous other mining towns of Idaho, my imaginary town of Redemption Creek is its own place so I don’t have to worry too much about pesky things like historical accuracy. I wish I had never thrown away my drawings of the envisioned hotel, but college-aged me thought those daydreams were quite immature. Let’s step into the past together as I create my stories about a woman who decides it is time to revive the ghost town that is her family legacy, and finds challenges that test her faith and determination.
What I’m Reading Now
Historic Idaho
No matter how long I’ve lived in the Midwest, I still think of myself as an Idahoan. Growing up in Idaho, I spent time camping under the Ponderosa pines in Cascade, soaking in the hot springs, cheering at rodeos and saving money for rides at the Western Idaho Fair. Boise may not look much like it did when I was young, but it still beats with an independent spirit that makes me homesick for ice cream baked potatoes and Basque food. I love to visit and I hope my stories can show you why. Ghost Towns
I grew up on the lore of the Oregon Trail (not just the computer game). The west is full of mystery, mayhem, and mining. If you grew up out west, you probably toured a ghost town or two. While others may see the decay and hardship, people like me see the adventure. Come with me as I discover the rich heritage left to us by the pioneering people who took a chance on an unknown future.
